The honor of having @nicolescherzinger a Tony Award-winning artist, a member of one of the greatest girl groups of all time, and a performer whose voice has helped sell more than 55 million records, sing in my class is something I’II never forget.
Moments like this remind me why I do what I do.
Music has always been more than entertainment.
It’s been a lifeline. It has the power to lift us when we’re down, help us find ourselves when we’re lost, and bring together people from every background through joy, vulnerability, and shared experience.
To share a room, an experience, and an energy fueled by music with someone who has helped shape its history was truly one of the highlights of my career. More than anything, it reminded me how special this community is. Community isn’t just part of what we do. It’s what keeps our studios alive. It’s the reason people come back, the reason they stay, and the reason so many of us find a second home within these walls. As a queer person, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is to find spaces where you can show up exactly as you are. Spaces where you’re celebrated, not tolerated. Spaces where your strength, your vulnerability, your joy, and your individuality are welcomed. That’s what this community has always meant to me, and that’s what I hope every rider feels when they walk through our doors.
For those of us who teach, this is a passion business. We don’t do it because it’s easy. We do it because we believe in people. We believe in connection. We believe in the magic that happens when a room full of strangers becomes a community. I genuinely can’t imagine myself doing anything else.
Especially during Pride Month, I’m reminded that our greatest strength has always been each other.
We build community by showing up. We build it by lifting each other up. We build it by being unapologetically ourselves and giving others permission to do the same.

Shot a commercial. Co-founded a new company. Started a marathon with all toenails. Finished a marathon with less than started. Stints in Japan and Mexico City. Fam, friends and turtle additions. Memes. Ate the largest pile of wasabi ever. Took an expensive nap at LA Phil. Moved back into our home. New restaurant openings, and new babies!

Many more adventures than can fit in 20 slides these last few months, including lots of really hard family health stuff :/

Like me, I’m sure 2026 is reminding you on a daily basis that to keep your head above water you have to be good, possibly psychopathic, at weathering the crazy ups and downs and unknowns. I’ve brainwashed myself (learned?) to be grateful for it all. If that doesn’t work, here’s a meme I sent to the commercial’s producer I submitted as my headshot. Maybe this helps you in some way.

And in these times, f it, be bold and love extra hard— yours, your people, your words and your time. ❤️
