We took a Kinetic U18s/U17s side to The Hive today for a showcase fixture against @barnetfcacademy_chs 💪

1st season as a coach in non-league completed ✅

I started off unofficially with Welling United at Step 3 before moving to Glebe in early November, who were in the relegation places.

We used our first game against Fisher FC as a free hit to assess where the squad were. From there, we built week by week-adding detail, developing a clear identity both in and out of possession, and working through solutions to the problems we d face in games.

It’s been a real process and journey. We introduced analysis evenings into our schedule every other MD-2, focusing on our approach for Saturday. We clipped key moments to send to players individually-highlighting areas for improvement and helping them develop their “super strengths.” We also added extras after sessions, working on specific defending, attacking, and passing actions to support both individual growth and team performance.

As a result, I believe we’ve played some of the best football in the SCEFL Premier-while also giving 3 teenagers key roles across the season. At the same time, we showed we could adapt when needed, going away to places like Hythe Town and Sutton Athletic in tough winter conditions and grinding out results.

In our last 18 games:28 points34 goals scored31 conceded (something we’ll improve next season)
That run kept us up-and I genuinely believe with another 18 games, we’d have been pushing for a play off place.

The last 8 months have given me real confidence in my ability to coach at this level, and I’m proud to have earned respect as a young coach finding his way.

Great experience, great process-looking forward to what we can achieve next season.
