While typically very loud, Ovenbirds can be tough to find...especially perched long enough in a tree for a photo! What a lucky opportunity!

Have you ever visited Nahant beach and wondered what that smokestack is? It’s the WIN Waste Saugus incinerator, the oldest of its kind in the country. It is underperforming but the state allows the facility to buy credits to compensate for its excessive emissions. Ash created at the facility is dumped in an unlined and partially uncovered landfill (see third photo) located in a tidal salt marsh. #winwaste #winwasteinnovations #winwastesaugus #incinerator #pollution

Feeling grateful re-minding the artistic collaboration on ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE, child-directed group process style with all 175 wonderful students from the Johnson Elementary School in Nahant. Painting two large murals together.
Thank you Lisa, Kevin, Heidi, Nancy, and all other amazing teachers and staff members for your invaluable work!!

It was cold. It was windy. It was wet.

But we battled it all to catch a small Plasticus sneakerus cablus during our visit to beautiful Nahant.

It’s good to meet ya, Massachusetts!

This is the most New England shot I think I’ve ever done. If you’re ever in Boston or nearby stop to check this place out. It offers spectacular views of the ocean, you will get some Great Gatsby vibes as you’re surrounded with spectacular realty and out of this world sunsets. Oh and there’s a whole castle that looks out into the Atlantic. Rock Castle, once referred to as “The Great Head” was a view point for fishing fleets, pirate, and enemy fleets.

Please join the Johnson School Student Council and the Nahant Education Foundation in the Kindness Rocks Project. All you need to do is paint a rock with a positive message and place it somewhere in front of your house to brighten someone’s day! We may move them to the school at a later date (if you wish). ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 #nahantkindnessrocks #nahantjohnsonschool #nahant #nahanteducationfoundation
