It's been a little under two years since I welcomed my dog Ollie into my life. Before him, I'd only had cats in my adult life. Imagine my amusement when a new friend referred to me as a "dog person." She's never known me as a "cat lady." Oh how things change.

It's not an exaggeration to say that becoming a dog gal has changed my life in many ways - all for the better. I love this little guy! Here are some of my favorite moments with him in 2023.

1. A lovely day at Fort Tryon Park with his aunt @chantalrochelle (whom he adores to the point where I'm almost jealous) and his cousin Capri.

2 & 3. "Graduation day" at his agility training class. Over five weeks he learned how to jump hurdles, weave through poles, scale a ramp, and jump through a tire.

4 & 5. His first time at the beach, and it was in Malibu; lucky pup. The sand's texture fascinated him, the tide startled him, and the squawking seagulls intrigued him. He loved it!

6, 7, & 8. I never thought I'd throw a birthday party for a pet, but life is full of surprises. We celebrated his 2nd bday at a dog cafe @borisandhorton with a bunch of our dog and human friends.

9. Thanks to Ollie, I know some of my neighbors and made some new friends this year.

10. Reppin the NY Knicks on Xmas day. (Thanks to auntie @nickifr3sh for the jersey!)

Welcome to the Wolfpack, Nairobi! Nairobi has been working on becoming a loose leash walking champion, strengthening her impulse control, conquering her separation anxiety and working through her mild dog reactivity🐺
