@NAKKABDOESIT IS AT NOIRE 1.

Nakkab is an Istanbul-born artist based in New York. His tattoo practice “Sernakkab” uses traditional Turkish marbling techniques to create abstract, anatomy-driven designs rooted in his background in sports and his fine arts education. Beyond tattooing, he works with surface design, conceptual art and photography, exploring form, movement and material.

In this exhibition, you will see more of his work across different mediums. Nakkab is also part of the curatorial team behind Noire 1.

Meet Nakkab — the artist behind Sernakkab.

He blends traditional Turkish marbling (Ebru) with tattooing, creating fluid linework that’s engineered — not freehanded — to move with the body. Every piece starts as a physical marbling artwork, then gets scanned and reshaped to fit each client’s anatomy in motion.

One-of-a-kind by design, impossible to copy.

I new I wanted a bigger back piece to also was a cover up. The desire was for it to be fluid and feel authentic to me. This was a custom piece by the talented @nakkabdoesit, I’m so flippin obsessed. New sims character unlocked.

Back at the beginning of May, we threw a little “Hello Summer” party… except summer never really arrived. 🥲

Here’s a little recap through my camera. I organized the whole thing, played DJ, bartended, took photos and videos… I basically did everything except tattoo that day. 🫠

Spending the day surrounded by some of my favorite people reminded me that this studio is more than just a workplace—it’s a community.
