30 years of painting! I started writing graffiti in 1996 and stopped in 2005. I made a promise to my family I would never do graffiti illegally again and I’ve kept that promise. I created HOTTEA with my ex-partner Cory in 2007 and since then and have created new ways of doing un-commissioned art in public spaces. Some of the mediums I’ve explored are: yarn, wooden type, projection, performance art, dance, magnets, canvas and lately I’ve been exploring custom inflatables. This is the first train I’ve painted since 2005 so it’s been 21 years— I knew it had to be special. I created this custom Bart Simpson inflatable to interact with my piece. I created a diary entry as the chalkboard background and the lettering is 30 years of practicing and figuring out new ways of composing letters. Thank you so much to @peyton_scott_russell of @sprayfinger for the opportunity! It’s hard to describe the feeling of being able to paint a train again. Every moment was magical and brought me back to what I was so passionate about. A special thank you to my family (Mom,Sandra,Janel) Shawn & Jason (Photo credit) Spencer (also photo credits) and Wyatt for all his help throughout the process. Paint: @loopcolors.usa (background) & @montanacans (fill color & outline)
