Last week was Scotland Loves Local Week 💙

We were proud to highlight the importance of supporting the independent businesses that bring life, jobs and investment to the places where we live, work and visit.

From representing local business concerns to MSP's, connecting with fellow Business Improvement Districts, and showcasing our neighbourhood through photo-shoots and radio interviews, we've been busy championing the cause.

Spearheaded by @scotlandstowns, we'll be sharing more later this week, but for now we'd like to thank our amazing business community and all of you who continue to shop, dine and support local services here on Byres Road & the Lanes.

Your support makes a real difference.

📸 Swipe to meet some of the people behind the businesses that make Byres Road & The Lanes so special.

📢City Deal Works Update 🚧

Ruthven Lane and Downaside Lane are now both now fully accessible via Byres Road.

If you’re out enjoying the sunshine this weekend, why not have a stroll down?

On entry to the lanes you’ll find two fantastic restaurants @kochchi.uk and @bothyglasgow , both a men’s and women’s clothing store @w2_store and Starry Starry Night and @change.g12 barbers 💈

Follow the path round the side of Kochi for 1 minute to find gifts and jewellery from @namamordesign and @city_centre_comics.

Continue past @westendcoworking on your left to discover the hidden antique treasures of Ruthven Mews Arcade and @subversiongallery .

And last on the lane is @chaakoouk

There’s also a fantastic mural which is part of an installation across Byres Road & The Lanes in collaboration with @artpistol . Why not see if you can find it?

Thankyou for supporting small, local businesses.

As the City Deal works continue northward, now spanning Dowanside Road to Ruthven Street and crossing the entrance to Ruthven Lane, we would encourage residents and visitors alike to keep their spend local and support the Lanes' businesses. All businesses in and behind the block are operating as normal, and you can support them by buying your goods, services, food and drink in Ruthven Lane and its surrounds. Swipe to see all that Ruthven Lane and Ruthven Mews Arcade has to offer.
