It’s hard to find words for what has happened in our Bend community. I’ve been thinking about how I can help, and offering this class for free is one way I can extend some care and support.

Beginning Monday, October 19, my four-week Trauma Sensitive Yoga for Women series will be free, with the option to join in person at Namaspa in Bend, Oregon, or online.

Coming back to ourselves after tragedy can take time. We may feel disconnected, overwhelmed, numb, or unsure of what we need. We don’t have to put those experiences into words to make room for ourselves.

This class offers gentle movement, choices, and time to notice your own experience. You can move at your own pace, rest, or choose what feels available to you. There is no expectation to feel a certain way.

It is a small offering, made with care for this community and everyone carrying the weight of what has happened.

October 19 & 26 • November 2 & 9
7–8 p.m. Pacific
Namaspa • Bend, OR
In person or online • Free

Sign up at Namaspa.com, or follow the link in my bio to find the class.

You are welcome, just as you are.

At @bendforestschool we’re growing more than curious minds and adventurous spirits. We’re nurturing emotional awareness, confidence, and resilience.

Our calm corner is one of the many ways we help children slow down, tune into their feelings, and discover tools to navigate life’s everyday challenges.

Because resilience isn’t about avoiding big feelings. It’s about learning how to move through them, with connection, practice, and support. 🌲

These little moments create ripples that last a lifetime.

This is the heart of why I love sharing kids yoga and mindfulness with educators and families! This weekend, we’re gathering at Namaspa for our Kids Yoga Teacher Training, exploring playful, practical tools to support emotional regulation, connection, and resilience.🧘

Small practices. Big ripples.

With the autumn leaves cascading off the trees, I find this is a great time to bring nature Mandala making into the classroom.
The children learn the history of Mandalas and their significance in different cultures. We then spend some time creating one big Mandala as a group, and then children get to choose their favorite elements to glue down on paper for their own nature Mandala to take home.

I teach the kids yoga class at Namaspa every Monday from 4 to 5 PM. It’s a $10 drop in for children aged 3 and up. The lovely Abbie teaches the kids yoga class on Wednesdays and also Saturday mornings.

Are we creating opportunities for someone to discover their own strengths, recognize what they need, and develop trust in their own experience? Or are we unintentionally directing that experience?

One of the things I appreciate about Trauma Sensitive Yoga is how it challenges us to reconsider what helping actually looks like.

Can we offer support without taking over? Can we share our knowledge without becoming the authority on someone else’s experience?

In TCTSY, we explore this through relationship, shared power, present-moment awareness, and opportunities for people to make decisions based on what they’re experiencing in their own bodies.

It’s about recognizing that how we help can be just as important as what we offer.

This is something we’ll explore together in the upcoming Trauma Sensitive Yoga Foundations training at Namaspa. I’d love to have you join us.

Trauma-sensitive yoga is more than changing your language or offering more options.

It asks us to reconsider how we teach, how we support people, and how we understand choice, relationship, and presence.

Join me for a free talk about Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Foundations — what it is, what you’ll learn, and how you can begin bringing these principles into your work, your scope of practice, and your own life.

We’ll explore:

• What makes trauma-sensitive yoga different from a traditional yoga approach
• What you’ll learn in a Foundations training
• How to integrate these principles within your existing scope of practice
• How this approach can inform clinical, educational, yoga, wellness, and community work
• How trauma-sensitive principles can shape the way you relate to yourself and the people you support

There will also be time for questions and conversation.

Free to attend. Registration required.
