Last week, I ran my first-ever 10K, setting a PB of 54:15 with an average pace of 8:45! Absolutely ecstatic to have accomplished something like this.

Huge shoutout to my coach @trainwithgage_ and my partner @namilex . Without them, I genuinely don’t think I would have made it here. They’ve taught me that setbacks are okay, perseverance matters, and most importantly, to trust the process.

You see, I originally signed up for what I thought was a road race… only to find out it was a cross-country race when I got there. This definitely wasn’t what I had plannedšŸ˜‚.

But looking back, I don’t think I would have had the mindset to push through without the lessons I’ve learned and the people who’ve helped me along the way. My coach has taught me to trust the process, regardless of how difficult or how long it takes. Setbacks are temporary, and sometimes the most important thing you can do is keep showing up.

Working with NAMI has also taught me so much. It’s opened my eyes to the importance of mental health, perseverance, and the impact that having a support system can make. It’s reminded me that even when life gets difficult, there’s always hope, and sometimes all we need is someone willing to lend a helping hand.

I’m running to set an example. To show that no matter where you start, what obstacles you face, or how impossible something may seem, you are capable of accomplishing incredible things when you put your mind to it and put in the work.

And if you’re ever feeling discouraged, struggling, or just need someone to remind you that you’re not alone, please know that myself, NAMI, and my coach are here for you.

You are loved. You are stronger than you think. And you are capable of more than you knowā€¼ļø

Absolutely amazing time at the Midsummer Nights 5K race!! Setting a PR of 22:29, 6/53 in my age division and 111/1700 OVR. Never could I have done this without my supporters and my coach, @trainwithgage_ .

While this run does mean a lot to me, it was for a bigger purpose. I have partnered with NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), a nonprofit organization focusing on mental health nationwide. They provide education, support groups, outreach programs, and so much more to help people who are struggling with their mental health.

Mental health can be both loud and silent. You never know what somebody is going through until they make it known. I have seen family, friends, and people around me struggle with mental health firsthand, and that is a big part of why this cause means so much to me.

I have partnered with NAMI in order to take a step toward creating a more welcoming environment where people feel comfortable reaching out, know that they aren’t alone, and have access to the resources they need.

WHILE NOT REQUIRED, below (or in my bio) you can find a link to my page to donate to this incredible organization. Your support helps NAMI continue their work and allows them to reach, educate, and help even more people as time goes on!!

I plan to keep doing events like this while partnered with them to continue spreading awareness, one step at a time.

Always know that there is someone out there who is willing to help and support you. You are not alone. ā¤ļø

Let me start by saying—I know I didn’t get them all. That’s where you come in. Please add to the list šŸ™

This actually started when I was planning the Dance Party with @thegrovelex and asked y’all which local nonprofits you love. My inbox was flooded… and it was such a good reminder of how many incredible people are doing meaningful work right here in our community.

The world is really heavy right now… and at the same time, there are so many people showing up and doing good. Both are true.

Save this if you want a starting point for getting involved locally. And please add your favorites in the comments—I’d love to keep this growing as a resource.

Happy Friday, y’all. Let’s take care of each other.
