It was so lovely to interview my dear angel friend @namzanil 🤍 We first connected through Instagram a few years before we actually met. I had been following her work because I loved the worlds she was creating through her paintings inand drawings. We finally met in Bogotá in 2022, when she asked me to tattoo a a drawing of mine on her arm. Since then, she’s become one of my favorite people to create with and someone I always feel completely at ease around. We talked about her latest EP, Lo que no se ve pero sabemos que existe, recording sounds between New York, Palmarí, and Bogotá, what it means to listen, and how painting has become a conversation with herself. Catalina will be in New York from August 5–26, guest tattooing at @thehighpriestessbk. You can also catch her performing live: • Tonight, August 5 at @the_living_gallery • August 13 at @a_soft_opening_ Limited edition cassette copies of Lo que no se ve pero sabemos que existe will be available at both performances and on our online shop. The full interview and cassettes are available through the link in our bio. 🤍 Photographer of first headshot @duvan.chaves Second photo of Namz @rou_rodriguez Last picture by Mariana

NYC, get ready for Hearing the Lights Elsewhere, Part II,at @the_living_gallery 🫧 A program about music, sound, and music video culture Curated by @perliiitas and @lilypetiot  Featuring videos by Princess Demeny, Mahlet Cuff, Mohammed Lamouri, SuperAlisa, PerroFeo, Eli Wewentxu, Yuri Umemoto and more. THIS WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5, AT 7 PM, with live sets by Colombian artists @namzanil and @saraefemar ♫⋆｡We love music and for us, sound is not subordinate to the image ♪ ₊˚♬ .These videos approach the moving image through its sonic materiality, where rhythm and music function as fundamental architectures of meaning rather than mere accompaniment. As Abigail Child argues, “sound creates a temporal architecture that image alone cannot achieve” (2005). We challenge the visual hierarchy embedded in film and video, foregrounding listening as a primary mode of encounter. We encourage as well to listen to sounds from other sides of the world, other cities, other countrysides, sounds that sometimes are forgotten or hidden under nature or the internet, sounds from precarities or sounds and images that we don’t usually see. An experiment, as Tina Crampton says, to listen to images, but in this case videos.  Here’s a selection of videos from YouTube: Zbig Rybczynski CAPRICCIO No. 24 New York Grief 89 — Princess Demeny

CHANNEL is a night of energy curation by “death ambient” project medium. Duo members @yeehawyaz and @gg200bpm will guide the room through a three-hour passage of sound and time that considers tension and release; spiritual energies; and collective experiences – situated in the extremes of harsh noise and glacially-paced ambient drones. This rare long-form performance will open with a special performance by Bogotá-based artist Namzanil. @namzanil is a visual and sound artist from Bogotá, Colombia creating immersive atmospheres through her voice and landscape textures, exploring the subtle and the infinite. Her sonic practice spans spoken word, vocal echo, digital synths, and field recordings. In 2025, she released her EP “lo que no se me ve pero sabemos que existe” (“what goes unseen, yet we know exists”), marking the expansion of her experimental work into music production. August 13, 5:30pm @a_soft_opening_ - RSVP or DM for address Flyer by @gg200bpm 🌀
