We are incredibly sad to hear about the passing of our friend @theduncansheik. This autographed poster hangs right inside the front door at @charliesofhiltonhead. He signed it for @mayfairart after a benefit concert he held on HHI. @nancy.golson has lots of fond memories and stories about Duncan and his family. It was always a treat to have them dine with us.

We are sending our love and prayers to his family and friends.

THIS ONE FOUND ITS WAY HOME.

There was something unmistakably “Bluffton” about it before the back told the rest.

Patricia Loper. Church of the Cross Pre School. 1988.

Listed with the details that mattered, it was recognized almost immediately & ultimately made its way home to @nancy.golson .

Patricia had painted this bright little Bluffton scene for Nancy as a birthday gift during the school’s early years, and it went on to hang there for decades.

The listing came down. The painting went home.

A piece of “Old Bluffton,” back where its story continues.

I know social media can bring so much frustration and grief, I feel it often myself. We’re constantly exposed to the weight of people’s opinions and the world’s hardships.. But there’s also so much beauty in it too.

I’ve connected with people I never would have met otherwise, simply through sharing my photography. One of those connections turned into a friendship with someone who is like-minded. Recently, she asked for my address, and a few days later I received a painting she created based on one of my photographs.

It means so much to know that something I captured inspired someone else. Photography has always been a form of therapy for me, a way to reflect what resonates with me in the moment. Seeing that scene reimagined through someone else’s perspective feels special, like sharing an experience without the other being there.

Thank you so much to Nancy Golson for this beautiful painting. It now hangs in my room, and every time I see it, I’ll smile and the think of how art reaches beyond itself.
