Nancy Valle
I have resided in Rochester, NY since 1980, working as a studio artist and teaching art in public schools. My studio and gallery in Village Gate Square in Rochester reflects my experience in many art forms, both two and three dimensional.
Working fluidly and experimentally in a wide range of media has enabled me to represent my ideas through visual art. I am currently working in printmaking. Monoprinting has allowed me to build layers of transparent color, texture, and depth to create the image. As an artist, I love to push myself to try new ideas. It’s about working steadily, yet delighting in those moments when the art becomes a satisfying flow of creativity. My current work in monoprint is a series of images that are abstract representations of earth, sky and water. I choose contrasting colors, patterns and textures and combine them into one image. This fusion of prints represent my highly personal observations of the natural environment.
Currently, my prints can be seen in Rochester at the Gallery Store at the Memorial Art Gallery and Shop1 at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
As a member of the Print Club of Rochester, the Arena Art Group, and Flower City Arts Center, and other local arts organizations, my work is frequently included in group exhibits.

Saturday, 11/1, @fcac_print celebrated 20 Years of the Printmaking and Book Arts Department. Lots of history and a reunion of old friends. So much to be thankful for, including @jkgouldthorpe connecting with @mitchel.cohen in 2005 to bring letterpress and a big type collection to @flowercityarts — we are so glad you did!! Reach out about classes, renting studio space, membership, or for more history!! #letterpress #printmaking #history #woodtype #metaltype #love #bookarts #bookbindinding #inky #ink #legacy
