To the Women Who Started It All
Three years ago today, September 28, 2023, something unprecedented began, a search for love that didn’t ask anyone to apologize for their age, their story or their heart still being wide open. How lucky were we to have been chosen to be a part of it all? No matter how long your journey was on the show, wasn’t it amazing? I’ll never forget the feeling stepping out of that limo, of meeting all of you. What a journey we went on. We made history. We walked into that mansion and shared our stories, our laughter, our tears, our joy, our heartaches, our victories, our loves, our losses, our hopes and our dreams for what might still be ahead. I love all of you. Not as a memory that’s faded with time, but as something that’s stayed with me every day since.
We are brilliant, sharp, funny, quick-witted women. We’ve built entire lives, raised families, run businesses, survived heartbreak and still showed up with grace and curiosity about what love could look like next. We are beautiful, not in spite of everything we’ve lived through, but because of it. It shows in the way we carry ourselves, the way we speak about our children and grandchildren, the way we are not afraid to say exactly what we want. We are accomplished in ways the world doesn’t always celebrate, decades of wisdom, resilience, and love given generously to everyone around us.
I am a better woman for having known each of you. You enriched my life in ways I’m still discovering three years later, in how I love, how I listen, how I understand what it means to be vulnerable at any age. That journey gave me more than a rose ceremony ever could. It gave me a season of my life I will cherish forever.
Here’s to you, Anna, April, Christina, Edith, Ellen, Faith, Jeanie, Joan, Kathy, Leslie, Maria, Marina, Nancy, Natascha, Pamela, Patty, Peggy, Renee, Sandra, Susan and Sylvia, I celebrate you. Thank you for your honesty, your courage, your open hearts. Thank you for reminding the world that it’s never too late to live your life to the fullest, to take risks, to go for it.
