There's something special about welcoming an artist back.

We are delighted to welcome Nancy Lu Rosenheim (USA), a Studio 88 Artist Residency alumna, who returns for a solo residency this July–August 2026.

Working across sculpture, painting, drawing, and printmaking, Nancy creates imaginative worlds where hybrid creatures explore emotion, memory, transformation, and our relationship with the natural world.

During her residency, she will continue developing Ghost Interviews, a project that began at Studio 88 in 2024, exploring grief, consciousness, and cultural perspectives on death through research, experimentation, and dialogue.

✨ Ready for your own creative journey? Applications are now open for upcoming Studio 88 Artist Residency programmes. We welcome artists and creatives from around the world to join our community in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Beach at the end of the block. Kids always in tow. We stumbled through raising them, laughed some, worried plenty, and somehow figured things out along the way. Turns out we’re still doing exactly that. ❤️
So nice staying connected, Nancy and Karrie.

“The exhibition that we did at the end was a revelation to me because the audience, the people that came, were so engaged in the work, and I wish I could stay longer because I have been given a lot of suggestions of different hybrid entities or ghosts or characters, in Thailand. So, now I have these stories to take home and new contacts to talk to. That was surprisingly delightful for me.” — Nancy Lu Rosenheim Artist in Residence, Evolving Identities 2024
