When @nancypomagrin Pomagrin said Natan Sharansky would be there, I was sold.
But once I arrived, the evening became even richer: running into friends— @noahshufutinsky Shufutinsky, @davidhazony @bellamybellucci, and many others—and finally meeting @izatabaro in person.

אתמול התקיימה הקרנת הבכורה של הסרט החדש Unraveling UNRWA מאת הבמאי דוקי דרור.

הסרט מבוסס על הספר ״שיבה באוקטובר״ של ד״ר עינת וילף וד״ר עדי שורץ, ומציג באופן קשה כיצד אונר״א שהוקמה כארגון זמני במטרה ליישב את הפליטים הערבים ולסיים את המלחמה, הפכה לאורך השנים לארגון שכל מטרתו להמשיך את המלחמה כנגד מדינת היהודים ולשמש לה משקל נגד עד לקריסתה. הסרט חושף מדוע אונר״א הפכה לתחנת התדלוק המרכזית של הפלסטיניזם, ובאמצעות ניפוח מספר ״הפליטים״, חינוך ל״שיבה״ ונקמה, לא רק שאינו מקטין את להבות השנאה, אלא, תחת מטריית לגיטימציה של האו״ם ומיליארדים ממדינות המערב, מבעיר שוב ושוב את אש המלחמה. והגרוע מכל - ממשלות ישראל ומערכת הביטחון במשך שנים ארוכות, לא רק שאפשרו את זה, אלא אף תמכו בכך.

הסרט ישודר בכאן 11 ב-21:30 בתאריך 6/12 ואנחנו במפלגת עוז נהיה פה לענות לכל השאלות שיעלו לאחר הצפייה בסרט. אולי סוף סוף תחלחל ההבנה שאין המדובר בארגון שולי, אלא שכל יום שישראל קמה כדי לשחוק את הארגון ואת הדלק שהוא מעניק לפלסטיניזם, הוא יום טוב יותר לבטחונה של המדינה.

Trying to explain this to a friend here’s the best I could come up with:

2 years ago, it felt like the tectonic plates moved beneath our ground, changing it forever on so many levels. One of them being the international community (Jewish and none-Jewish). Since then, I’ve met hundreds of people from around the world that in our most fragile (and dangerous mind you) hour, just kept pouring in. Listening, sharing, dedicating their time, effort, resources, and in many times putting their reputation on the line, FOR US. Some leaving everything behind and making the crazy decision to move here. I’m in awe. The world suddenly became smaller in the most humbling way. Strong and meaningful connections with unique people were formed and it keeps feeling like we’re just getting started. I have no clue what tomorrow holds but I feel quite blessed to be in the heart of this tornado, and like a student again, with so much to learn. Whoever needs to hear this THANK YOU. I love you. And to those of you who wish upon our destruction, thank you too, you’ve awakened a strong fierce force, and opened our eyes.

Many who label Israel as an apartheid state misunderstand the situation. Arabs living inside Israel enjoy full rights as citizens, while Arabs in the West Bank are treated differently because the area is not under Israeli sovereignty. If Judea and Samaria were part of Israel, their status would be different too. Do you believe they should become part of Israel proper?

Terrible lies were told at the United Nations yesterday, by UN officials and by many of the world’s worst regimes. And then I got to speak and correct the record.

After visiting Israel nine times since October 7, I wanted to testify before God and the international community and say loud and clear: Israel is NOT the problem.

Those who are keen on pointing fingers towards Israel must look in the mirror. I am fed up with the cowardice and hypocrisy of countries who abuse the rights of their own citizens yet claim to be the biggest champions of the Palestinian cause. They lecture Israel while they should be learning from the only real democracy in the Middle East.

Thanks to @hillelneuer and @unitednationswatch for giving me the floor at the UN Human Right Council in Geneva.

I had a great evening addressing friends old and new alongside the ever insightful Einat Wilf. Our subject was “Israel vs the world”. The atmosphere was great as we tackled the problems facing Israel and the Jewish people, as well as the solutions this unique country and its people are pioneering. יחד לנצח!
