Here in Scotland at Clava Cairns, a huge series of ancient Bronze Age burial mounds made me pause to think about death, how final, how impending — and yet… it is possible to have peace with it, knowing that “If I die I die” — it’s the best mentality to help you to truly live! #metal #metalwithpurpose #metalwithamessage

Sometimes courage isn’t believing you’ll win.

Sometimes courage is taking the next step even when the outcome is uncertain.

That’s what this song is about.

Not fearlessness.

Acceptance.

The moment you stop letting fear make your decisions and move forward anyway.

⚔️ If I die, I die. ⚔️

This is how The Mourning is born.

Johnny starts by composing on the piano and creating a demo. From there, he sends it to the incredibly talented musicians who make up the band, and they take those ideas to places he never could have imagined on his own.

He feels incredibly blessed to share this journey with such gifted artists.

Here’s a little piece Johnny is working on for future material. Get ready… there’s a lot more to come.
