This coming Saturday CLICK presents Francesca Burattelli as part of the line-up:

Multidisciplinary artist Francesca Burattelli (IT/DK) has been active since 2017 in the Danish alternative music and art scene, with her distinctive avant-garde pop performances, lingering between experimental music and visual art. Her praxis evolves around the performativity of the singing voice, unfolding in electronic landscapes, merging chanting, recital and elements from South Italian traditional singing. Her releases Condition (VISAGE) and Battle Fatigue (Anyines) from 2020 and 2022 have respectively established her as a distinctive producer and artist in the Copenhagen music scene.

A new release is forthcoming in 2026, which further morphs Burattelli’s roots into a new artistic spectrum where fragmented electronic scenarios meet Neapolitan song tradition. Her multilingual songwriting and genre-bending attributes, creates a wide net of association from orchestral tradition to modern media accumulation, often engaging with sociopolitical themes. In her soloist post.grad. studies, she investigates the use of psychogeography and affect theory, to look at musics potential to navigate and create emotional mappings across landscapes and cultures, questioning the notions of heritage and belonging. In her latest work she makes use of different singing styles and woodwind instruments as bagpipe, flute, and saxophone, as tools of exploration of Mediterranean music tradition, with a contemporary approach to this areas Geopolitical implications.

In addition to her solo project, Burattelli has been active with the duo Gate Hand alongside Claus Haxholm and is a co-founder of the performance group Union For Open
Vocalism (counting members Clarissa Connelly, Holly Hartvig, Ydegirl et al.++). Burattelli has collaborated with label Posh Isolation, 20_14 Assembly, and artists as Courtesy, Xenia Xamanek, Cæcilie Trier, et al. Her performances include appearances at Roskilde Festival, STRØM, Copenhagen Contemporary, Cph Jazz Festival, Overgaden Institut, Malmö Kunsthall.

Tak. @chrischordz & @nikolajpellegrini !! Jeg kunne ikke have lavet denne sang uden jer

Overexposed for @kaltblut_magazine <33

The editorial explores the pressure our generation feels to constantly be more beautiful and interesting. Drawing from club culture, and creature-like beauty, we wanted to play with identity, self-curation, and intense transformations. The characters move somewhere between glamour and distortion. The result is a surreal world that feels both alien and human.
