Objects to make time feel tangible ⏰
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Sometimes when I’m in Annapolis, I feel like I’ve wandered into someone else’s beach read.

The storyline practically writes itself. Type A business owner leaves the big city, returns to her charming, idyllic hometown to care for her aging mother, falls back in love with the place, mother dies, finds love…cue the happy ending. Fortunately, I already had the love story, but you get where I’m going.

This past April was no exception. My birthday falls at the end of the month. While it was packaged as a birthday trip, which it was in part, I really needed to retrieve her ashes and bring her to Atlanta. One step closer to getting her to Carmel, which will be her final resting place.

While we were there, that’s when Chad and I made the decision to absorb another agency. We had sixty days to make it happen, right in the middle of one of our busiest seasons for us both professionally and personally. Now it’s July. I’m back in Annapolis for a quick escape, and for the first time I’ve had enough distance to look back at the past two months. Actually, this entire year.

Maybe that’s why this place keeps pulling me back. Not because I want to move home, but because it reminds me where I started and gently forces me to appreciate where I’m going.

So here’s a look back at my favorite moments from that trip, which honestly seems like a lifetime ago. ♥️
