Fun times last night. Massive thanks to the acts and audience who came along. And as always a huge thanks to the wonderful staff at @1000tradesjq.

We're back on April 16th with another great lineup. So join us then. You can reserve your seats now via the link in our bio.

(Adam just got a new phone. Once he figures out how to take good photos on it. It's game over.)

The Project Mayhem Comedy Festival is just 7 days away, 1pm, 21/3/26, come see some of the funniest acts in the Midlands performing their Work in Progress shows before some take them up to the Edinburgh Festival, get signed, become famously wealthy and then go mad in a derelict castle in the outer Hebrides. 🌞

There's still a few tickets left for each show on Eventbrite so snap them up before they sell out and we'll see you all there, let any comedy fans know about the event as I'm sure they'll dig it. 🎸🤩🤡

Sometimes you die on your arse so hard you want the stage to open up and swallow you whole.

Sometimes the most personal, vulnerable parts of your set get a huge roaring laugh for the first time from people who’ve lived it too and appreciate your humourous perspective.
Sometimes both happen within a few hours!!

Hard to believe these were taken on the same night.

I try to get a selfie at every new venue.
As you can tell from the blurry one… I couldn’t even wait the nanosecond it took to focus.
I changed too many things last minute & didn’t read the room.

I came unbelievably close to just driving home. But I didn’t.
I went on early — put my phone and notes away and just went for it - and it clicked.

I (thankfully) finished the festivities on a high!

Then I got to sit back and enjoy one of the best nights of constant comedy I’ve seen as an audience member.

Same night.
Two very different outcomes.

This month I’ve pushed myself.
Performing in the very first and very last show of the festival with 15 spots in total!

Gong shows. Mixed bills. Hosting my own inclusive family show. Gigging up to six times in a week with an 8-month-old at home.
I haven’t loved every minute.
But I’ve loved the challenge.
I’ve loved the thrill.

There’s something addictive about walking into a room not knowing whether you’re about to fly or fall flat — and doing it anyway.

Leicester’s open mic scene is genuinely welcoming and supportive. I’ve met some brilliant comics this festival, watched them multiple times, and learned loads just by being around it.

Looking at hosting my own adults-only mixed bill in Narborough around Easter.
hope some of the brilliant local comedians I met this festival might fancy jumping on.

Massive thank you to my incredible wife for backing all the “ideas” — not just comedy there's been football coaching, stadiums, neurodiverse kids’ shows, authoring books, fancy dress marathons… a diary that often looks mildly unhinged.

That’s me done with comedy for now...
Until tomorrow night at @theroyalstandard_derby

See you there 🎤

Last night I popped my Bush Cherry at Hollybush Arts in Cradley Heath with several of my @glittersisterscomedy and many other fabulous female comics.

I had been told that Hollybush was an experience, but nothing prepared me for the reality. It is the most bonkers comedy venue but also incredibly friendly, and great fun. It may have taken me several hours to defrost but I loved it.

Thanks for having me! @davidfrancis71
