POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Hello Netherlands! 🇳🇱
We are young people from Uganda 🇺🇬 we will show your our community, our lives, we will share our stories of the work we did as children. Many of the things people buy pass through hands like ours, we want you to see that. But, we survived, some of us went back to school, some of us started our own businesses, and we all want that the children after us don’t have to do what we did. No more. Help us change that! #wakeup #fightchildlabor #connectforglobalchange #wakeupinvestigation

This International Coffee Day,

☕ Meet the people behind your coffee.

First, we hear from Richard, a survivor of child labour, as he shares his experience in the coffee supply chain.

Choose wisely. Look beyond the cup.

This is just the beginning. More stories from the coffee process coming soon.

BEYOND THE CROWN. 🌍

In Buteza Village, Sironko District, our first Runnerup Miss Universe uganda 2026 @kimberlyjaelaremo spent time with young people who have experienced child labour, creating a meaningful space for conversation, encouragement and hope.

Kimberly shared parts of her own journey, the challenges she has faced and the importance of believing in your potential despite difficult circumstances. In return, the young people openly shared their experiences — the struggles they have overcome, the strength it took to move forward, and the dreams they are now working toward.

This was more than a visit. It was an exchange of stories, resilience and possibility — a reminder that every young person deserves the opportunity to dream beyond their circumstances.

Our sincere appreciation to Wake Up Foundation and Nascent RDO Uganda for the work they continue to do to support and empower vulnerable young people.

Beyond the Crown is about using the platform to listen, to learn, to inspire and to create meaningful change. 👑🌍

MY VOICE, OUR FIGHT AGAINST HUMAN TRAFFICKING IN PERSONS.
For a long time, she was silent. Not because she had nothing to say, but because fear stole her words, shame buried her voice and pain chained her spirit.
Today she writes not just for herself but for every victim girl, boy, woman, man whose story remains hidden behind closed doors and locked rooms. She survived human trafficking. It didn’t begin in a dark alley, it started with a promise, a job abroad, a better future, money to help her family. The man wore a smile, held a bible and called himself uncle. But behind his kindness was a network. Organized, trained, heartless. She wasn’t sold once, she was sold over and over, body, dignity, soul. They took my passport; they took my name. and for months, I was nothing more than a community in a chain that profits off pain. Do you know what it feels like to called it? To be bought like sugar, used like plastic and then thrown away like trash.
This is a crime we are not shouting loud enough about. Human trafficking is not just evil. It is organized evil. It wears suits, runs businesses, partners with silence and thrives in systems that refuse to see.
But I am no longer part of the silence, my voice is my fight.
Today, I use every breath to speak up for those still trapped, I write for the girl who trusted too soon.
For the boy who thought working in the city would change his life, for the house maid whose screams are muted by high walls, for the child on the street whose innocence is preyed on by the men with deep pockets and shallow souls.
To you reading this;
we are not powerless, you can unite to break the chains, learn the signs, speak up, believe survivors, support shelters, report suspicious recruiters, teach your children, I may not be a victim but today I am an advocate and with every word, I speak, I write to the world with my voice, strong, clear, unshaken.
This is my fight.
Will you join me.
For a survivor, For every survivor.
