I know exactly what a spicy romance novel sounds like because

1. I read lots of them and
2. I’m an award-winning songwriter
3. BONUS I may or may not be writing a 🌶️ book myself! 🤫

My new single ‘Smut’ is available to stream everywhere on 10/16! Pre-save with the link in my bio! 😘

Back in business 💥 been an extra trippy few days. Thanks for listening to “Too Late Now” ❤️ it’s doing better than I thought it would 🎵 I’ll be announcing the full album release soon. There’s songs about cultural appropriation, crappy friends, the Bible Belt, west coast hipsters, moonshine, gentrification, revolution, addict self destruction and one about the hottest lesbian to ever step foot in Nashville ✨ I’m really excited to share it with you! Thank you sticking around if you have ❤️ this album is a new beginning for me. No body gets to tell me what I can and can’t sing about ever again. Like they say in the “doing life” movie, hands off the brakes ✌️

@lorettalynnofficial had at least 14 songs banned from the radio. She sang about women’s issues that no one wanted to hear about but she kept writin about that anyway. She didn’t give a gosh darn sh*t and baby, she’s my roots.

“Angels (Who Take No Sh*t) from my new album PERFUME is streaming everywhere! 😉 Link in bio!

@dollyparton has changed the world for women everywhere. She knew who she was and didn’t let anyone tell her different. Her confidence and self-assurance was a beacon of light to everyone and baby, she’s my roots.

“Angels (Who Take No 💩)” is streaming everywhere! Go listen! You can also support a lil indie artist like me and check out the whole album PERFUME on Bandcamp or my website! Links in bio!

“Too late now” is finally out in the world 🎵 music video comes out later today! sometimes I wish I could build a Time Machine. I’d take the new folks back in time, introduce them to my ghosts and show them why I love this city so much. Nashville is a one of a kind city being turned into a cookie cutter wasteland. But it doesn’t have to be that way! I complain about the new people a lot but there’s also a lot of new ppl trying to help. We just gotta learn how to communicate with each other. Because “help” without consideration just leads to more gentrification. I hope yall like it! If you don’t that’s cool too 🙃 I’m grateful to finally have it recorded and out in the world ❤️

Our collective voices have power. I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how easy it is to believe the lie that our voice doesn’t really matter, that it won’t make an impact. But it’s the lie they want us to believe so they can maintain control. @macklemore @msrachelforlittles and so many other leaders show us by example how one person can inspire another and then another and then another to be brave and speak up. The only actual control we have is our voice, our ability to speak truth, to speak against injustice, to speak up for others when we see something wrong. Don’t stay silent. Be brave. Use your power. ♥️

original lyrics:
“Bill lee’s moving in like a big white hog
army of pigs with big gold claws
Tearing down the neighborhoods the news forgot
Ahh it’s too late.. Can’t be stopped
Least that’s what we say til it lands on our door
Gentrified horrified completely ignored
We’re the bodies buried under the fancy wood floors
In the new tall skinnies none of us can afford
•
Mama say it ain’t so
The money moved in now we got no home
Been tryin to find my way
But they even changed the street names….”
•
We’ve got a big governors election coming up! I’m tired of shit 💩 if you’re in Tennessee and you love Tennessee and you’re seeing this, can we please do something different? We all deserve so much better. Sending love ❤️
