Elmgreen & Dragset’s 2020, a surrealist car park at EMMA has come to its end. The artists wrote in their essay: “This year 2020 feels quite like the atmosphere one would experience in a car park – something you want to leave soon after you have entered”. Ironically, due to the continued restrictions 2021, we were sort of stuck in this empty car park, without our visitors. Yesterday we had the chance to open the museum after 6 months closure (due to coronavirus), and hundreds of people managed to see the show for the last time. I’m grateful and heartbroken at the same time, having a lump in my throat. A heartfelt thank you for Michael Elmgreen & Ingar Dragset and all the amazing people who made this extraordinary exhibition possible ❤️ @elmgreenanddragsetstudio @emmamuseum
