That's not a client. That's the point.

Hallie is teaching. Natalie is learning. And the head on that tripod is taking every practice cut so that nobody's real hair has to.

Natalie is our Salon Intern Assistant, and Sonia and Hallie are the ones training her. The hands on classes in our program are taught by an Executive stylist and a Master stylist with fifty years between them. Finishing cosmetology school is where that starts, not where it ends.

Megan came through this same program and has been taking clients at Starling since 2021.

So by the time someone stands behind your chair, they have already spent months on the version of your haircut that didn't count.

If you're early in your career and this is how you want to learn it, that's how people start here. Salon intern assistant Natalie practicing a cut on a mannequin head on a tripod while Hallie teaches, inside Starling Salon in Denver

Got to meet internet homies, old friends and new ones who I can honestly say are now life long homies. Celebrating My 1 Year Educator Anniversary!

It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since I returned to the institute! Time truly flies when you’re having fun. From school fashion shows to the incredible class photoshoots, I’ve loved every moment.

I’m proud to have participated in educator showcases, won 2nd place in the Edwin Neil competition with my coworkers, and taken students to Denver Fashion Week this season. It’s an honor to be part of their beauty school journey. Here’s to many more amazing years ahead!

I remembered what happened this year lmfao, it was a year full of love. I felt my heart grow so much, got to see more of Colorado, went to Maine, went to so many weddings, but the highlight was being able to be with my sister while she was bringing my nephew into this world. It was truly beautiful, and she showed me true strength. Everyone tagged made my year feel beautiful (insert instagram-less Alexis) ❤️❤️ 2025 will be filled with more travel, and hopefully, more love.
