POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This week is @cphdistortion , and we’re closing the Vesterbro Street Party on Thursday, June 4, with our hybrid DJ set, from 21:00 to 22:00 @ Tuborgs’s Ghettoblaster @ Sønder Boulevard — and it’s free 4 all.

Here are a few thoughts on our relationship with Distortion.

JJ PAULO OPENS THE FIRST FREE NØRREBRO STREET PARTY IN 5 YEARS 🧡

You definitely wanna’ come early to Dronning Louises Bro to this year, because we have a special thing lined up for you! At 16.00 sharp(!), when the first second(!) strikes of the first free Nørrebro Street Party in 5 years(!), the shooting star @jj.paulo will open the Distortion Bridge Party stage with an electric afrobeats performance. JJ Paulo is well known for his joyful shows, where he with his afrobeats and commanding performance always gets both children, elderly and the young to dance all together, jumping from one side to other 💃🏼🕺

Also performing live on the bridge stage is Aarhus’ @akabanga_music at 19.00 with a hypnotic, instrumental show blending clubby afrobeats inbetween balani, fqom and baila funk 🔊

And in between local heroes @josefine_amalie_winding and @ramati (& Friends) will keep the temperature rising all day ‘n night!

We caught up to JJ on a sunny Copenhagen Tuesday, and asked him what Distortion means to him — and why the Nørrebro Street Party of 2017 was a special year for him?

Distortion Brofest is part of the free Nørrebro Street Party, Thursday May 30. Support the free street parties by buying a Gadearmbånd — and get discount in the bar as well! More on this year’s Gadearmbånd soon.

🇵🇸This Sunday April 21st we’re BACK with our Lot Radio residency and this time we have JEENA sharing her talents with us! 🇵🇸

Jeena is a multidisciplinary Palestinian artist, hailing from Montreal and based in Copenhagen. Her work as a composer, sound therapist, instrumentalist, vocalist and visual artist fuse to create multidimensional sonic experiences. Her sounds draw inspiration from avant-garde and grunge music while exploring modern edges of ambience, techno and trance. Stepping into her universe, she connects the sonic and the remedial, transporting you between light and dark.
