Dance Collective Summer Spotlight Series 2026! Here’s a look at everything our dancers have been up to this summer. The countdown to being back together officially begins now; T-12 days until the first day of the fall semester! We can’t wait to see you soon, Dance Collective! #dance #summer #college #2026 #dancetraining

Natalie Sherer: Natalie is going into her senior year with the University of Arizona School of Dance! This summer she had the pleasure of training with Giordano Dance Chicago to further her education. At the end of the program she was honored to receive entrance to their College Mentorship Program for the upcoming school year. She is so excited for this amazing opportunity! In August, she will also have the privilege of attending Ballets Jazz Montréal’s summer program to prepare for her senior year here at the U of A.

Caroline Cox: Caroline spent four weeks training at the Verdon Fosse Legacy intensive in New York City. She worked with renowned faculty and Fosse protégés, studying foundational techniques while exploring the Fosse method and style. She is excited to bring this training back to the University of Arizona as she performs Bob Fosse’s “Sing, Sing, Sing” again at this year’s Arizona Jazz Dance Showcase. She also trained with JA Collective during an immersive residency with Conflux Dance Theater, directed by Miguel Perez (UA Dance alum!!). She had the opportunity to immerse herself in JA Collective’s creative process while they set a new work on the professional company.

Ava Huntsberger: This summer, Ava trained at two notable programs. At Springboard Danse in Pittsburgh, she had the chance to work with contemporary dance companies from around the world, gaining exposure to a range of styles and approaches. She then traveled to New York City for the Verdon Fosse Legacy intensive, where she learned repertoire passed down by several of Fosse’s protégés. Both experiences offered valuable time in the studio and new perspectives to bring back to her own dancing.

Macie Krause: Macie Krause is an incoming sophomore, and this summer she attended the Orsalina28 summer intensive with guest artist Johan Inger. She stayed in Moncalvo, Italy on
