Meet San Francisco–based artist Natalie Dunnege @themapplescanvas , whose work is currently on display as part of the Pissed Off Moms Art Show @pissed_off_moms at Natasha Tsozik Fine Art Tattoo @natasha_tsozik . ✨

Natalie’s multidisciplinary practice draws from photography, writing, oil painting, abstract art, and contemporary dance. Her work explores motherhood, connection, longing, and the complicated emotions of trying to hold on while learning to let go.
For this exhibition, Natalie created three deeply personal works inspired by her relationship with her son, the desire to escape the boundaries of everyday life, and those fleeting moments that feel almost too beautiful to leave behind. 🖤

This October I’m opening my studio for SF Open Studios’ 51st season! @artspansf I’ll be joined by artists Melissa Mohammadi @melissamohammadistudio & Elizabeth Mathiasen @the_haghut for a weekend of art, nature, and community.

Swipe to see moments from 2023 → the cozy, light-filled space, art on the walls, and creative energy. Friends, neighbors, and fellow creators mingling, chatting, discovering pieces that resonate.

This painting feels very german expressionism which i guess is how my experience with motherhood has felt, but what mom hasn’t felt an explosion of color in her life while simultaneously starved of resources?

Come talk art, dance, drink some juice boxes. This is family friendly. I promise I won’t get too dark with your kids. I’ll keep the German Expressionism at a minimum.
