Process and final outcome of my wig for Specialist Practice Unit @makeupaub !

The shoot is inspired by Angela Davis and Kathleen Cleaver, drawing from the visual language of the Black Panther Party, where natural hair functions as a political act and a rejection of Eurocentric beauty standards, referencing hair as a site of autonomy, resistance and empowerment

The wig is custom-fit to my model and entirely designed, constructed and hand-knotted by me.

This project documents the stages from base construction and lace work to full knotting, shaping and final styling.
I used synthetic Kanekalon braiding hair for ventilation and Straight pins with boiling water to set the hair into an Afro texture.

Thank you to everyone who helped me with the process of creating my first textured wig!❤️❤️
