POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

There’s a quote from Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Our Town that has been repeating in my mind since I saw Hale Centre Theatre’s transcendent new production last night:

“It’s like what one of those Middle West poets said: You’ve got to love life to have life, and you’ve got to have life to love life… It’s what they call a vicious circle.”

It reminded me that loving your life requires truly living it. More often than I care to admit, I find myself waiting for whatever comes next instead of fully embracing the life I’m already living. Great theater has a way of gently calling us back to what matters, and I left last night deeply grateful for that reminder.

This production is simple, elegant, and profoundly affecting. The performances are honest, understated, and deeply human. Every design element serves the story beautifully, and the cast, crew, and creative team have crafted something truly special.

Wyatt is wonderful in the show. Though he doesn’t have many lines, he brings a quiet dignity, sincerity, and maturity to every moment he’s onstage. It’s a joy to watch.

And then there’s Cecily.

I genuinely believe this may be one of the finest performances of her career. Over the years she’s given unforgettable performances as Jo in Little Women, Maria in The Sound of Music, Mother in Ragtime, Marian in The Music Man, Phoebe in A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder, and many others. But her portrayal of Mrs. Gibbs feels different. It is so clearly shaped by eighteen years of marriage and fifteen years of motherhood. She fills the role with warmth, humor, quiet longing, and heartbreaking humanity. Mrs. Gibbs is a woman whose dreams seem simple, yet whose life proves profoundly meaningful.

It is a performance that feels earned—a high watermark of a life well-lived as much as a role well played. I have no doubt it will stand as one of the defining performances in an already remarkable career.

If you have the opportunity, don’t miss this production. It is a beautiful reminder to love the life you’re living while you’re living it.

Congratulations to the incredible cast, crew, design team, and production team on

Awe Suessical 🥰

One of my all time favorite shows I’ve ever been in! 🫶🏻💕🎪

The routines, the puppetry, the balls that dropped and the balls that popped. The music with all its amazing lines to tell the story that a person’s a person, no matter how small. 💖

Pulling together my clips brought back so many fun memories...I forgot I have a video of how they did the ball drop. If you have memories and want to comment, I would LOVE to be reminded of them 😂.

Gratitude has been a theme for the last year. I have had the highest of highs and the lows haven’t felt too bad. Career growth, a third year of marriage with my person, travel and so much more.

I’m thankful for family. I’m thankful for a job I love. I have the best husband. I’ve been blessed to travel. I have some of the greatest friends a woman could hope for

Here’s to another year. And may you have the happiest of holidays

I always grew up hearing “marry your best friend”

For a long time I didn’t understand what that actually would look like. What it would mean.

But I was lucky enough to marry my very best friend. Anyone who knows Nate knows how kind he is. Nate is notorious for his goofiness and patience. I couldn’t have hand picked a more perfect person for me.

Three years married is kinda crazy. We’ve moved. Careers have grown and changed a little. We’ve flown across the ocean a couple of times. A few road trips. Drunken book recaps. An endless list of ADHD moments. House projects. Too many hours in tech. Updating each other on the mundane in our days. And so much more.

I love you Galapagos. You’re my favorite forever person. Here’s to another amazing year my love. 🥂
