Just got back from a trip to Portugal accompanied by my partner in crime Helen @naturevibesiom
We did a road trip from Lisbon to Sintra, Obidos, Pinhao, Porto and back to Lisbon.
So whilst in Lisbon we did a 2 hour Master Class making Pastel de Nata at Bakery Natelier
in Downtown Lisbon with Sergio @natelier.pt
Great course, thanks Sergio!
Came away with 5 pastel de nata that we had made ourselves!
I think I’m done now! 5 in two days was enough! Ha!

I’m one of many cousins keeping our family’s baking tradition alive. We’re now in the fifth generation.

I’m very proud of what our family does, but the pride I feel for this cousin is something I can’t put into words.

We grew up together, and even as the years go by, it still feels like we see each other all the time...

Today, we went out for lunch together, and he brought us the best dessert ever—the best pastel de nata in the world! ❤️

You can visit his shop in Lisbon, near the Elevador de Santa Justa @natelier.pt

He makes the traditional one, but he also offers many different flavours, as well as vegan options. And you can do a workshop as well.

Seeing him grow like this fills my heart with happiness. ❤️

At the beginning of this year, I visited his workshop, and it was amazing! One day, I’ll share that experience with you.

It’s one thing to eat your way through Portugal, but learning how to make their famous pastéis de nata from scratch!? 🇵🇹

Spent the day with Natelier in Lisbon learning the art of making Portugal’s most iconic pastry. Experiences like this are exactly why I love traveling. Getting to immerse myself in the local culture makes it that much more memorable. 🤍
