Mckayla & Nathan’s Palos Verdes engagement session felt more like a date than photos, and that’s exactly what made it so good.

They brought wine from the spot where they got engaged, found a quiet place to sit, and just slowed down together. A little picnic, a lot of intention, and space to actually be present with each other.

Knowing they’ll be getting married in this city made it all feel even more special 🤍

For one of our first dates last November, Nathan texted me a full itinerary for our day in Redondo Beach with time-stamped “activities” to keep everything a surprise. He even told me what to wear for each part of the day (which I was happy about because of course I wanted to have my outfits ready).

He picked me up and took me to lunch, walked with me through his favorite Redondo spots, grabbed me coffee when it got chilly, and took me to dinner with cute boutiques next door that he knew I’d love. Then he drove us to the lookout points in Palos Verdes, where we looked out at the ocean and the city. I remember feeling so pursued that day.

So our engagement was very in character for Nathan, thoughtful and intentional. From choosing Catalina View Gardens (a place that we love), to designing the ring, to arranging a photographer AND videographer (video coming soon!), to a surprise party after with our friends, he carefully planned all of the details.

And he designed the ring with gold from his mom’s and grandma’s rings, and I’m so honored to hold a piece of them with me.

It was the easiest “yes” ever! Nathan, you’ve reflected Christ’s love to me. I am so grateful and proud to be your fiancée… and soon, your wife. I love you. ❤️
