This past Thursday we celebrated the release of EM Magazine’s Fall 2024 Issue, my last issue as Co Editor-In-Chief and my farewell to the team after five semesters. EM has always been a crucial part of my college experience, but it wasn’t until I saw our new generation of gifted creatives holding their work that I realized just how much it’s taught me. Rising from staff photographer to EIC I’ve meet some of the most caring, funny, talented, and passionate people who want nothing more than to create. EM has always prioritized the visions and capabilities of the individual, a difference in perspective and interpretation was not just accepted but desired. With each issue it gave me a greater understanding of what a creative team can look like. Starting under @reaganxallen as EIC and then @mayaeseri and @drewwmitchell I saw that a leader could be your friend, a collaborator, and an inspiration. So much more than just a figure to give you directions, confines, and approval. I can only hope I’ve continued their legacy in some form, but I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the intelligence and support of my Co Editor-In-Chiefs @mariyam_quaisar (Spring ‘24) and @annabelleadamss (Fall ‘24). You’re both confident and competent powerhouses. You take no bullshit from anyone (literally anyone) and ensure integrity when actualizing your visions. Annabelle can foster a relationship and community with those around her in seconds without force, just sincere curiosity and consideration for people. Mariyam is always 6 steps ahead on how to bring an idea to life and both of their editorials will make you put down the book and sit with yourself. Whenever I fell short you both came ready with a remedy and there will never be enough flowers for me to give you, thank you. EM will always be with me and I can’t wait to see it evolve and flourish in the years to come:)

If you go to Emerson the issues are about to be all over campus, snatch em.
