Last night’s @giggle.gala gave us a glimpse into the plans for a new @dsm_childrens that will spark curiosity and learning for #Iowa kids. 💡

Grateful for leaders like @purpleiowa helping turn big ideas into reality for the next generation.

Investing in kids is investing in our future. 💛

Former DMPS board chair, my friend & future constituent, Kyrstin Delgardelle, has been a supporter of this campaign since before day one. I'm honored to have her endorsement.

It just so happens that 6 years ago today is when Kyrstin won her election to serve on the Des Moines School Board (and it must have been about 6.5 years ago that I helped badger her into running).

Campaigning for and service in local government is not for the faint of heart. Frankly, it tends to be tiring, tedious, and thankless, but that doesn't stop us. We get involved in local elections because we recognize a way we can serve our communities, and we believe our vision is the right one for our neighbors.

I hope you'll support our organizing efforts to reach voters and talk to neighbors about what matters most to them: bit.ly/CL4DSM-give | bit.ly/CL4DSM-vol

Endorsement Quote Reads: “Chelsea is both compassionate and tough. Those descriptors seem to conflict, but that's precisely how I describe CL. They utilize a deep well of strength and perspective that comes not only from the hardship they have faced in life but years of personal growth, too. CL has an eye and heart for service and has advocated for their neighbors for years and they understand that the role of a city councilor is not only the economic development of our community but also the safety and well-being of all residents. CL will make sure residents are informed and heard by the city council, making the process more open and accessible for all. I proudly endorse my friend and our neighbor Chelsea Lepley as the next councilperson representing Des Moines’ Ward 2.”

All work and no play makes beating Republicans dull. Well, not really, but Wildfire staff did take some time to catch our breath after the 2021 cycle ended with some non-zoom social interaction (formerly known as dinner and drinks).

*Wildfire's team is 100% vaxxed and held our dinner in a private room
