Yesterday, October 16th, marked the 10th anniversary of when I officially launched @StepOffMagazine. Over the course of the past ten years, I’ve written & published hundreds of pieces: from album & film reviews to lengthy investigative Op-Ed pieces, & in-depth interviews with musicians, artists, actors, activists & organizers. This platform also pushed me into the world of podcasting, where I’ve had the chance to interview some of my favorite artists of all time & step up my caliber as a reporter. The past ten years have truly been a whirlwind of achievements, setbacks, new experiences & emotions. However, as I’ve said in the past, all of this would be for nothing without the continued support & engagement from all of you that regularly read, listen, & share my content here across social media. I cannot convey how important your engagement & encouragement from all of you over the past several years has been & just how instrumental it has been to my journey growing as a writer & aspiring journalist. From the musicians that share their music, the artists that showcase their art, the organizers & activists that fight for communities, to the readers that like, share & comment; all your love, support & advice have helped me grow. While I’ve always had high hopes for the site, I could have never imagined that a decade later I’d still have a dedicated community of readers & supporters. I began the site ten years ago (apprehensively, I must admit) after being convinced by several friends impressed by my writing & over those years, I’ve seen this platform grow & evolve beyond all of my expectations. Even though I’ve branched out & grown significantly as a reporter, Step Off! Magazine will always be special to me. A true labor of love that I’ve poured my heart & soul into, and that I can call my own. So, whether you’re a brand new reader or have been with me from the jump, on day one, I sincerely want to say thank you to you all! It is my sincerest hope that you all continue on with me as we journey into a new decade!

🟨 56th Chicano Moratorium ❗️Today 3pm 🔺La Raza has the collective power to rise to victory Performing Live at 3:15pm @jag.arreola @native.threat Via @centrocso 👇👇👇 “ ✊🏽¡RAZA SÍ! ¡IMPERIALISMO NO! Join us as we commemorate the 56th Chicano Moratorium and honor the courage of the Chicanos who stood against the Vietnam War, along with the martyrs of August 29, 1970: Rubén Salazar, Lyn Ward, and Angel Diaz. The Chicano Moratorium was more than a moment in history. it was a movement for justice, self-determination, and liberation. More than five decades later, we continue that struggle as our communities face deportations, police violence, displacement, and attacks on our people. This Chicano Liberation Day, we gather to remember those who came before us, honor their sacrifice, and recommit ourselves to the fight for our community. 📍 NEW LOCATION: Mariachi Plaza 1831 E 1st St, Boyle Heights, CA 90033 🗓️Saturday, August 29, 2026 🕒3:00 PM Bring your family, friends, and community as we commemorate our history and continue the struggle for justice and liberation. ¡La lucha sigue! ¡Raza Sí! ¡Guerra No! ✊🏽 “
