THE GREAT MIGRATION - FEEDING TIME. Probably my favourite photo I’ve ever taken, let alone in 2026. 🦁📸

What an extraordinary moment.

A male lion was hiding in the bushes on the banks of the Mara River, an iconic crossing point where wildebeest and zebra make the journey from Tanzania’s Serengeti back into Kenya’s Maasai Mara.

As we arrived, we could see a huge herd waiting to cross. Our guide, Steve, mentioned that lions occasionally hide in the bushes, waiting for an opportunity.

About 60 seconds later, a pride of lions suddenly burst from the bush.

I managed to catch this moment, frozen in time - a male lion launching himself into the air, claws out, just as he was about to take down his prey.

There are plenty more photos from this sequence that I’ll share as part of the set, but this single frame stood out to me the most. Everything just came together in one split second.

a lil summer reading and safari dump 🥹📚🦒🐘✨

I know lots of you said you wanted to see what we were getting up to over summer when we told you we’d be taking a little break from the club throughout August…so here’s a lil peek at some of mine ❤️

I’ve honestly found it SO hard to properly switch off because my brain is always thinking about LGBC, coming up with ideas and planning things for us 24/7 lol (thank you adhd 🤣) so this trip was a very good excuse to put my phone down, slow down and get lots of reading in too 📚🥰

I managed to read:

📚 The Compound by Aisling Rawle
📚 Cursed Daughters by @oyinbraithwaite

& I’ve still got Atmosphere by @tjenkinsreid and Leave Your Mess at Home by Tolani Akinola waiting for me! I’m also attempting a reread of The Hunger Games before the new film 🍿📚

The safari itself was honestly such a special experience and getting to read surrounded by giraffes and elephants definitely made it even more magical !!! Thank you to @nativeafrikavoyages 🥹🦒🐘📚

I’ve missed you all lots and can’t wait for our chats and events to be back properly! ❤️ Thank you for letting us have our little summer break and I hope you’ve all been having the loveliest, most relaxing summer too 🥰

Experiencing the Maasai Mara was more than just a safari — it was a childhood dream coming to life. Watching wildlife roam freely across endless landscapes, hearing the sounds of nature, and witnessing Africa in its purest form was something we’ll never forget. 🐘🦒🦓

No screens. No filters. Just nature doing what it has done for thousands of years.

The Maasai Mara reminded us how wild, beautiful, and incredible this world really is. ❤️🇰🇪

🇰🇪 Day 3 we were met by the lovely @nativeafrikavoyages ready for a long drive to @amboselinationalpark ! We checked into our cute lil lodge for 2 nights @sopa_lodges and then headed out for our first afternoon game drive where we saw everything from ostriches, zebras and giraffes and SO many beautiful elephants so so close to us!!! 🥹🐘

I literally arrived with zero expectations as I’d never ever ever imagined I’d go on a trip like this?!! and it already exceeded every expectation within the first 2 hours 🥹⛰️🐘!!!!!!

Thank you so much to @nativeafrikavoyages would recommend them to anyone ❤️✨
