I think about @nativefinediner in Greenville, NC often. It’s an easy drive about 85 miles east of Raleigh, but honestly, I’d travel twice that far for an experience this good.

The way they elevate classic diner nostalgia into an art form, while keeping it entirely unpretentious and deeply community-driven, is unmatched. Every single detail, from the flavors to the atmosphere, is pure magic.

So it comes as zero surprise that they’ve officially been recognized by the MICHELIN Guide! Congratulations to @cheflukeowens and his incredible team for this huge, well-deserved milestone.

You forever hold a spot at the very top of my list. ✨🍽️

What a whirlwind of a week and a half. Kyle and I were in Asheville for a few days to enjoy some great food, and mostly for @cannonstheband at @the_orange_peel . Found a new favorite - @jargonrestaurant and of course we had to stop at an old favorite - @curatetapasbar , plus multiple breweries. We squeezed in a small hike to see the leaves starting to change. Home for a weekend full of fun local things and friends - including @marivelez574 400th bootcamp at @greenvillefocusedfitness , @kings.deli pop-up at @starlightcafeandfarm , our first Flight Club event at @paperplane_bar and a hometown show from @highjuneband at @statetheatrenc . Then off to Ft Lauderdale representing Sound Partners at the EAG Leaders Behind the Leaders Conference with our very own celebrity @cathympalmer (and my favorite partner in crime)! Cheers to doing all the things and never slowing down 🍻😜

Congratulations to Luke Owens, chef and owner of Native Fine Dinner in Greenville, recently named MICHELIN Recommended in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide American South.

Luke Owens is the chef and owner of Native Fine Diner in Greenville, North Carolina, and a lifelong advocate for the food, people, and communities of Eastern North Carolina.

Raised in Eastern North Carolina, Owens has built his career around the belief that the region’s food deserves to be celebrated not simply for its history, but for where it is headed. At Native, he draws from the traditions, ingredients, farmers, anglers, and stories of the region while presenting them through a modern lens.

Beyond the kitchen, Owens is passionate about strengthening Eastern North Carolina’s identity as a culinary and cultural destination. He believes restaurants and small businesses have an important role in creating community, supporting local economies, and giving people a reason to experience the region for themselves.

As an Eastern North Carolina Ambassador, Owens hopes to help tell a broader story about the place he calls home, one rooted in agriculture and tradition, but equally defined by creativity, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and the people building its future.
