These chairs will forever be my favorite vintage pieces! I still cannot believe that I saved them from reupholstery & that I get to call them mine now. I looked for the right chairs for this space for over a year, so if you’ve been looking for something on Facebook Marketplace, this is your sign to not give up!✨

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! As we welcome the new members of the Mayor’s Maker Council, it is time to say a quick thanks to the exiting members. @ebaileyfoster of @realgoodkitchen, @tys_eye with @thebottomknox and @black.atticus of @parkcityprinting have all served their terms! Knoxville has a more vibrant maker community because of the time they have spent working together with other creatives on the council. THANK YOU! And we will see y’all at the 2027 Maker City Summit (and a million times before). #TheMakerCity #KnoxvilleSmallBusiness

I’ve stood in 31 national parks and the only proof is 4,000 phone photos I’ll never look at again. So now I have this beautiful map by @nativemaps 🌲✨ (ad) If you want one too, comment 63 and I’ll send you the link! 🗺️ Every park I’ve scratched off is a place I actually stood, sweated, cried a little, and bought a sticker I didn’t need. Every one I haven’t visited is a plan. It’s the least fussy way I’ve found to keep score of a life spent outside. Gold layer scratches off, full-color illustration underneath, all 63 parks, and it looks good enough on the wall that people ask about it instead of politely ignoring it. Happy birthday to the National Park Service 🎂 Today every park is free to enter, which means you have absolutely no excuse not to go. #nationalparks #nativemaps #nationalparkmap #nationalpark

There are only a few spots left in Maker Business 101, The Maker City's five-week intro-level business development course that helps creative entrepreneurs set up for success. We thought this would be the perfect time to share about our Facilitator! David Harman is the Founder of @nativemaps based in Knoxville, Tennessee, with a Bachelor degree from The University of Dallas and an MFA from University of Tennessee-Knoxville. A prolific artist, Harman discovered his passion for map making in 2011, using it as a way to get to know his hometown better. He has expanded the collection to include cities from across the country, recently partnered with the National Parks Service and branched into scratch off maps. Through his online shop and partnerships with retailers like West Elm, he has successfully grown Native Maps into a nationally recognized brand that brings hand-printed, locally-inspired maps to homes across the country. The only prerequisites for Maker Business 101 are that you have a creative business idea you’re ready to develop, and a willingness to learn and refine it alongside other makers. View the curriculum on our website. #TheMakerCity #NativeMaps #MakerEducation #KnoxvilleArtist

Space for this class is limited. Once we have ten people signed up, it will be full! #TheMakerCity #KnoxvilleTN

Lake Michigan out here cosplaying as the Atlantic Ocean and honestly? The commitment is impressive. 🌊 Meanwhile, the Frenchies were busy conducting important toe bean hydration experiments. 🐾 10/10 fake ocean. 10/10 real good day. @indianadunesnps @nativemaps #IndianaDunes #VanLifeDogs #FrenchBulldogLife #RoadTripWithDogs #VanLifeAdventures GreyhoundVan

Yellowstone, you wild little overachiever. 💛 We saw bison, bears, coyotes, and enough wildlife to make the Frenchies question their place in the food chain. We watched Old Faithful do her thing, wandered past geysers so colorful they filled my soul cup clear to the brim, and stood in awe at the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. It absolutely took our breath away. Partly from the views. Partly from the switchbacks. 10/10. Would happily lose feeling in my calves again. @nativemaps

Tetons, you were a 10/10. Yellowstone, you’re up next. 🐾🏔️🚐 Still no murder floof sightings. At this point we’re starting to think the bears heard about Benny, Walt, and Izzy and decided the competition was too fierce. 🐻 @grandtetonnps #grandtetonsnationalpark @nativemaps

One of our favorite bits from the @nativemaps brand refresh project is this topographic map detail we used as a background texture and as an alternate logo. We started with a survey map of Knoxville from 1977, found the location of the Native Maps studio, carefully traced and cleaned up the elevation lines, and then finally simplified and roughed it up to create the abstract topo icon. It’s hand made, thoughtful, and rooted in place, just like Native Maps 🌎
