In order to create something..... it is imperative that you as the creator are able to have a vision. This means you have to be able to visualize things coming to life before they are in existence! Not everyone is going to see what you see. They are not supposed to because it's not their vision.
SIX YEARS AGO ON NOVEMBER 18 The doors to Debonair Barbershop were officially opened for business. When I saw the space available in the Men's Wearhouse parking lot.... where men are deciding to get new clothing for a wedding, prom, some sort of special event.... I KNEW THAT A BARBERSHOP would match perfectly for them and for us. Although things have not been exactly perfect I'm extremely thankful for everything and everyone that has been and still is involved with my Shop. @mouse.wayne Duane Hill has been there this whole time never wavering. At a certain point Duane single handedly kept my shop alive..... meanwhile I was going through some personal difficulties. As this week continues I would like to share bits and pieces from this journey and express all of the gratitude possible. I have no words for the Owner of the property @christianws26. He has been absolutely 10000000000% In support of my business no matter what.... through the good times and moreover through the worst of times. Thank you so much. Lastly to my Family Support and to God for believing in me no matter what. Thanks to all the folks that have patronized my business and to all the several barbers that have came and went over the years. Stay up and remember.... if you can see it, if you can believe it..... THEN YOU CAN ACHIEVE IT! # FATITH

Hey, Black Seattle! One of the most frequent questions I get is “who maintains your locs?” The person I go to isn’t taking new loc customers BUT…when you tap in with the regional expert of all things hair & beauty @reignofstyleseattle you can find errrrrrrbody! Thank you Aisha! (PS…y’all need to follow them because the Mane of Style Awards voting is about to begin on April 14th!)

Here are just a few of the people who are out here blessing our crowns and doing this powerful, ancestral work. Share your loctician in the comments so the community can learn about them!

And share this with your friend who keeps saying they wanna start locs but don’t know where to go!

A little over 5 years ago I took a step of faith in God and myself to see my vision of opening Debonair Barbershop. It was extremely tough to leave my home shop @hidefcuts. I owe a lot to my big bro Brandon Chaney for giving me the opportunity to start my professional barber career. These are just some photos from the process of making something out of nothing. I'm grateful to @davidhernandez3910 for putting a team together to accomplishing the look of the barbershop. I'm extremely proud of this shop and I look forward to improving it and making it better. Much appreciation to @christianws26 for providing me with the opportunity to have this space and execute my vision. Much love to all of those that currently work at Debonair and to those who have passed through, all of you are critical to creating the foundation for the shop. Betty and my kids have been extremely supportive throughout the whole process. This would not be possible without their unyielding support. I praise the most high for giving this garden. There have been a lot of ups and downs but we are still here. Still learning and look forward to what lies ahead. Thanks to everyone that was apart of the original process at some point. And shoutout to WINFRED for always being there. See y'all soon
