This is me accepting that sometimes beautiful things end. This is me understanding that's there is nothing I can say, or do, to fix that. This is me coming to terms with the fact that sometimes leaving is an act of love, too. That sometimes you have to walk away from something soft and hauntingly real, that sometimes hearts don't align. But this is me accepting that endings don't have to always be messy. This is me understanding how incredibly real it is, for a moment in time, in a world of billions, two strangers were in the right place, at the right time, and something special transpired between them. This is my heart swelling with the though, that at one point in time, we were the lucky ones. At one point in time, we beat the odds.

Woke up today with a stuffy nose and feeling like garbage, but had a weird urge to just get up and go to Rocky Mountain National Park. So that’s what I did! But having arrived at noon, alot of the popular spots were already crowded. So I decided to go off the beaten path and found a 4.5 mile hike to the “Spectacle Lakes”. The hike was uphill the entire way and roughly 3 miles in I start to hit patches of snow, which got bigger and bigger until I was walking on a 4+ foot deep mass of snow pack. Only a half mile away from the lakes the snow softened and became too dangerous to trudge through. Reluctantly I had to turn back. Sometimes you have to do the smart thing. Nonetheless the solo hike is just what I needed, and it got rid of my stuffy nose. There’s so much beauty to explore in RMNP, I think I’m going to make it my official training grounds for the summer. It’s only an hour and half away.
