I have not been feeling myself lately and I needed to get something done that felt positive.

I've been stopping at this beach for years on the way to and from the coast to let Levi stretch his legs and swim. For as long as I've been stopping here, this huge pile of trash has sat on the sand ten feet from the river.

Today was the day I finally got to do something about it, and it felt good to get it done. Thank you Desmond and @cleanupthelake for the assist, would not have been able to move some of these bigger items on my own.

For a rough estimate, my total weight at the scale for truck, trailer and trash was 7,140 pounds. Subtracting the curb weight of my truck and trailer (5586 lbs), myself and Levi (225 lbs), and an extra 300 lbs buffer for other gear in my truck, that puts us at just over 1200 lbs removed off the shore on this stretch of the river before lunch. Proud we were able to follow through on this.

Being a Nature’s Keeper means more than just talking about protecting the land; it means actually showing up for it.

Picking up garbage. Respecting the places we explore. Standing up for what we believe in. Doing our best to leave the environment better than we found it.

That’s one of the reasons I was stoked to collaborate with Nature’s Keeper. Their whole brand is built around stewardship, sustainability, and giving back to the outdoors through upcycled materials, recycled fabrics, natural dyes, and community-focused environmental efforts.

A portion of proceeds supports organizations fighting for climate justice, Indigenous stewardship, and access to land and water.

In a world where a lot of people just talk about caring for the environment, I respect brands that are actually trying to do something positive with what they create.

Go check out Nature’s Keeper and see what they’re building
