e3 got unplugged! 🌿🥾☀️ One of our amazing teachers, Nicole, along with her husband and daughter, kicked off this year’s Nature Unplugged Hike-A-Thon! Even a San Diego heat wave couldn’t stop this crew from getting outside and hitting the trail. 💪☀️ We love seeing our e3 community unplug, get outdoors, and spend time together — especially for one of our favorite annual events! The Hike-A-Thon continues throughout October, so there’s still time to get outside and join in on the fun! Swipe for more details. ➡️🌿

Day 3 of San Diego Climate Week is here, and before we dive in, please be mindful of the Extreme Heat Warning in effect today. If you are heading to any outdoor events, drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen, bring a hat, and listen to your body. Your safety comes first. Find cooling centers at coolzones.org. This morning the county is buzzing with activity across every corner of San Diego. From kayaking and cleanup at Batiquitos Lagoon, beach cleanups in Coronado and Oceanside, river habitat restoration with Surfrider and San Diego River Park Foundation, native planting at Agua Hedionda Lagoon in Carlsbad, invasive species removal at Swan Canyon, and an oak workshop at Crestridge Ecological Reserve, so many organizations are showing up for the land today. As the day continues, head to the San Diego Food Bank for a local food panel and warehouse tour, join a Climate Fresk science card game workshop at the San Ysidro Public Library, plant with friends at The French Door Café in Carlsbad, or pick up free mulch and compost at Chollas Lake Park or San Dieguito County Park. And of course, our SDCW Land Summit runs from 10AM–2PM at Barron Creek Farm in Oceanside, with Indigenous cultural performances, a farm tour, tree planting, a youth and women's climate leadership panel, and so much more. 🌾 We are happy to share that most Land Summit programming is indoors with AC, so come as you are and stay cool. 🔗 See all Day 3 events and plan your week at https://san-diego.climate-week.org/ 📸 Tag us and use #SDCW26, we want to see you out there, safely! #SanDiegoClimateWeek #LandSummit #ClimateAction #SanDiego
