✨✨✨ The beautifully striking Navs, made up by the wonderful @jma.artistry 💜 Fun fact: we had to reshoot this because my files corrupted! I swear to god the moment of DREAD (This happens to every photographer at least once or twice). But, turns out this shoot was 1000 times better than the first. Super grateful to these two for being so patient with my vision 🩷 Lighting wise I used about 5 sources ✨ And a huge thank you to my papa for lending me his cars 💯 - Also another fun fact, this was my year 12 ball gown. LMAO, I’m resourceful AF.

1ST PLACE BRIDAL @beautyexpoaustralia 🤍 Signature Bridal The last category I was expecting to win was Bridal! This win means a lot because I was honestly pretty insecure entering this category since I’m not a full glam bridal artist. It’s really cool to be recognised for my glam skills, all those Saturdays at MAC paid off 😆 Again, thank you to @navinastevens for modelling a $20 vinnies dress like it’s designer 😅 You’re the best!! 🩷🩷

1ST PLACE EDITORIAL @beautyexpoaustralia ⭐️ Runway Ready: Iris Van Herpen inspired I was lucky enough to showcase Cocoon, a piece from the sustainable Perth label @dnlathelabel_ to support the Van Herpen theme for this category! And I couldn’t have done it without my amazing model @navinastevens who trekked it to Sydney to sit for me. It was very special to have so much support from Perth creatives, no one does it like we do 😌🖤

LOOK FOUR | RUPTURE S1 METAMORPHIA RUNWAY’26 Designing Rupture made me think a lot about identity. Philosopher Homi Bhabha talks about the Third Space, the idea that identity is not fixed by one culture or another. Instead, it is continuously shaped through the experiences, influences and connections that exist between them. When I was creating the artwork hidden beneath the cocoon, I kept coming back to one question: if you stripped everything away, what would still make you, you? Who are we in the Third Space? For me, the answer was the people I’ve loved, the memories I’ve carried and the experiences that have shaped the person I’ve become. Growing up between South Africa and Australia, I often found myself existing somewhere in between. Not defined by one place or another, but creating something new from the space between. LOOK FOUR | RUPTURE S1 METAMORPHIA RUNWAY’26 Breaking open from within. @navinastevens spotted on the runway in the fourth stage of METAMORPHIA, the Rupture Look. The cocoon splits open, no longer able to contain what has been forming inside. A violent yet beautiful fracture, where the hidden self tears through the surface. Beneath the ruptured shell, a hand-painted collage offers the first glimpse of an identity shaped between cultures. The Rupture Look is a reminder that becoming isn’t about becoming someone new.
