BIRTHDAY LOVE FOR THE QUEEN @nazokchi 👸🏼: Thank you, mom. For seeing my most authentic self the moment I was born and naming me Melody.
Thank you, mom. For bravely leaving your home country and family when you were only 21 and I was only 3 months so I could have a better life.
Thank you, mom. For giving me an idyllic childhood, despite having to make a life out of nothing with no one to lean on but Dad.
Thank you, mom. For the homemade birthday cakes with pudding centers and handwritten invitations.
Thank you, mom. For the singing and piano lessons, the art and dance classes, and all the other activities you planned to help me discover and nurture my me.
Thank you, mom.
For pushing me to make better choices when I was an invincible teenager who thought she knew everything (I didn’t).
Thank you, mom. For your gracious forgiveness when I inevitably still made the bad choices.
Thank you, mom. For teaching me that being a woman means finding a way, even when there is no way, and seeing the possibility when anyone else would say it is impossible.
Thank you, mom. For helping me navigate every new role I’ve taken on with strength, grace, and love, from attorney to entrepreneur, wife to mother.
Thank you, mom. For showing me that relationships take work, and communication, and love, and forgiveness, and coming back to the table, day after day, year after year.
Thank you, mom. For the six am visits and six pm pop-ins to save the day when my life feels impossible.
Thank you, mom. For continuously exploring yourself, and growing yourself, so I too could learn than my identity is never set in stone.
Thank you, mom. For showing me that sisterhood is more powerful than competition, and that my focus should be on elevating myself. Not diminishing others.
Thank you, mom. For being twenty-five things all in one, the designer, the florist, the accountant, the artist, handyman, chef, fundraiser, and more, and all without any training other than necessity.
Thank you, mom.
For always leading with light and laughter and love and hope, even when the world was on your shoulders and the future was so incredibly uncertain. (Continued in comments)

My mom is M.O.M. (made of magic). Her hands transform nothing into everything. Her heart has enough love to carry a village (and she does). Her vision is superhuman. She sees and secures the way when there is no way. She is full of light and grace. She transcends time and space. She is divinely feminine, she is profoundly powerful, she is delicately omnipresent, she is a joyful force of nature that causes everyone and everything to bloom. She is the reason I am ME. She is, in a word, magic. What makes your mom magic, and how can I help celebrate her with you? 🔻❤️😘
