Radical Creativity: Can Art Change Our World? During this panel, @edwardadonteng shared his reflections on what message he would want to share to black men. While our conversation began with the question Radical Creativity: How Can Art Change Our World?, it grew into something much wider touching on identity, culture, creativity, and the ways art can help us reimagine ourselves and society. Chaired by @seuntwins , this was an honest, thought-provoking conversation that moved far beyond its starting point. We had over 700 people walk through the doors over just 6 days during our ShadesOf Atonement exhibit @shadesofshows. Only getting round to making a wrap-up post now, but I am truly blessed to have seen this exhibit flourish and come to life after 9 months in the making, with the team putting in a graft to get this over the line. This is our third year running the ShadesOf series, and the turnout is always incredible. From ShadesOf Resistance, ShadesOf Migration, to this year’s ShadesOf Atonement, we’ve seen over 2000 people engage with our exhibit series and worked with over 100+ incredibly talented and gifted artists. ShadesOf is more than just an exhibit series; it’s a series of temporal reflections. Being able to creative-direct and curate this series alongside my super-talented co-curators @ma_rtina_amo , @ameliamdavies , and @_emille__ is always a blessing, not to forget our wicked assistant curators @esmemcgowan and @ni.thiya__ . From panel talks to live performances, we had some beautiful programming over the 6 days of our exhibit. While I am sad to say the show is closed, I’m extremely excited for myself and the team’s next steps. If you are, or work for, a brand or institution, don’t be a stranger let’s work. We have some exciting things planned for the future, and the community we’ve been building always looks for collaborators and allies. I want to give a special shoutout to @thebombfactoryartfoundation , who have supported us immensely over the last three years, letting us take over their beautiful Marylebone gallery and supporting my own artistry to develop through these years. Finally, can’t forget the legends who helped us execute the space we were all able to engage, converse, and connect in: @marcusfreeth

Even though we may be living through periods of difficulty and friction, it is of the utmost importance that we keep pushing forward. valerian root will be on display at @thebombfactoryartfoundation until the 26th of august! this self-portrait was born from my longing to reconnect with ancestral knowledge obscured by colonialism. drawing on Indigenous motifs and Tikuna ceremonial practices, this piece reflects my ongoing search for cultural recovery. approaching self not as a finite discovery, but as a continuous act of becoming. a massive shout out to the @shadesofshows team for being so intentional w the curation of this exhibition 🌬️ 📍206 marylebone rd, london, NW1 6JQ
