On Fortitude

Lord,
strengthen those who carry vision in quiet places.
Give courage when the road feels long.
Give peace when there is noise.
Give wisdom in the work of our hands.
And let what we build bring light, beauty, and love into the
lives of others.
Amen.

Seigneur,
Amen.

Bondyé Senyè,
Ba fòs a sé moun la ki ka pòté on vizyon adan plas trankil.
Ba kouraj lè chimen-la ka sanm long.
Ba lapé lè ni bri.
Ba sajès adan travay a lanmen an-nou.
É fè sa nou ka bati
pòté limyè, bèlté é lanmou
adan lavi a lézòt.
Amèn.

On Patience

I don’t think we’re meant to stay as we are.
I think we’re meant to transform over time.
More honest.
More present.
More aware of others.
YRMOS is an invitation to people with a vision.
It’s here to remind us,
of who we are becoming,
in order to change the world for the better.
You remind me of someone.

You remind me of someone.

An pa ka kwè nou fèt pou nou rété kon nou yé.
An ka kwè nou fèt pou nou chanjé épi tan-la.
Pli onnèt.
Pli prézan.
Pli konsyan a lézòt.
YRMOS sé on envitasyon ba moun ki ni on vizyon.
I la pou rapèlé nou,
kimoun nou ka devni pou nou chanjé monn-la an myé.
You remind me of someone.

On Mercy

I used to think people needed to deserve care.
I don’t believe that anymore.
Mercy begins where judgment ends and where active love begins.
And I’m still learning how to live that.
You remind me of someone.

You remind me of someone.

Avan, an té ka kwè moun té dwèt mérité pou yo risivwè lanmou.
An pa ka kwè sa ankò.
Grace ka koumansé la jijman ka fini é la lanmou aktif ka koumansé.
Jis a prézan an ka aprann kijan pou viv sa.
You remind me of someone.

On Responsibility

There’s something I’ve been avoiding.
That we are not separate.
The way we live…touches everything.
I’m responsible.
Not just for myself.
But for more than I can see.
Before everyone.
You remind me of someone.

Devant tous.
You remind me of someone.

Ni on biten an té ka évité.
Kè nou pa séparé.
Jan nou ka viv…ka touché tout biten.
An ni rèsponsabilité.
Pa sèlman pou tèt-an-mwen.
Mé pou plis kè sa an pé vwè.
Douvan tout moun.
You remind me of someone.

On Discipline

Change doesn’t come from intention.
It comes from repetition.
From choosing the right thing, again.
Even when no one sees it.
You remind me of someone.

You remind me of someone.

Chanjman pa ka vin a-pati di entansyon.
I ka vin a-pati di répétisyon.
A-pati di chwazi sa ki bon, ankò.
Menm lè pèsòn pa ka vwè-y.
Ou ka fè mwen sonjé on moun.
You remind me of someone.

On Humility

I’m learning that humility is not lowering yourself.
Where you’ve been wrong.
Where you’ve been blind.
And choosing not to hide from it.
You remind me of someone.

You remind me of someone.

An ka aprann kè limilité, sé pa rabésé tèt a-w.

On Silence

I stayed quiet for a long time.
Not because I had nothing to say,
but because I didn’t understand it yet.
Silence teaches you what is true.
And what is not.
You remind me of someone.

You remind me of someone.

An rété an silans lontan.
Pa paskè an pa té ni ayen pou di,
mé paskè an po ko té konprann.
Silans-la ka apwann-w sa ki vré.
É sa ki pa vré.
You remind me of someone.
