ARTIST RESIDENCY @ncceast40 ☀️🍃🍯
Thank you @nccartprograms and @northamptoncommcollege for this amazing opportunity to work in such an inspiring garden. 🙏@rachaelgorchov for the delicious dinners and great conversations, and introducing me to @terrafaunafarm 🙏Katelynn for the honeycomb to use (beeswax) as a resist, and for the calendula flowers. And also thank you Katelynn and Alex for your support at East 40! “Alex…one more question 🤣…” I’m excited to finish up the work I started at this residency and to install it this fall on site in the garden 🪴. #ncceast40 #nccartprograms #northamptoncommcollege #cyanotypes #mosaics

Excited to be back at my artist residency this summer @ncceast40 🌻 I did some solar print tests in Cape Cod, and will be working on mosaics and solar prints while I am here. Glad to be a @nccartprograms and @northamptoncommcollege 2026 artists-in-resident making art on site at East40. @rachaelgorchov brought me to the amazing sunflower fields at St Luke’s. Fun fact: St. Luke is the patron saint of painting 💗🖼️. #ncceast40 #nccartprograms #northamptoncommcollege #publicart #artandnature

What an amazing place to make art @ncceast40 🍀 Yesterday, I strolled along the walking paths listened to site-specific poetry by 2023 Artist-in-Residence Abigail Michelini and collected botanical specimens for my upcoming solar print artworks made on site. I’m thankful to @nccartprograms and @northamptoncommcollege for inviting me to be one of their 2026 artists-in-residents. It was a gorgeous sunny day. The birds were singing and the blooms were out. The plant samples will press flat over the next couple of weeks, and should be ready to use for my public art commission that I’ll work on when I get back. #ncceast40 #nccartprograms #northamptoncommcollege #publicart #artandnature
The last photo is a splendid field of wild carrots (Queen Anne’s Lace).

Today is world bee day. They need help today as many bee studies’ funding has been cut, and they’ve been on the decline. HOWEVER! You can help! Grow flowering plants, and even have a safe area for drinking water access; they get thirsty, too, and rise with the sun to start their pollen collecting journey.

Also, did you know all honey bee “collectors” are female? The male ones guard the hive. As Beekeeper Danielle from East 40 Community Gardens says, the drones “are like the frat boys” of the hive, keeping outsiders out, eating, and trying to get that figurative honey, too.

I’m working on an album inspired by the sounds of these important fuzzy buzzies. Here I’m recording the hives on site, each having a different personality. They all do hum a similar tune, tho, which changes of course depending on flight, rest, agitation… I’m looking forward to sharing this collection of vibrations with you.

If you’re interested in learning more about bees (and nature) check out the NCCC East 40 Community Gardens. Danielle installed new hives this season, even!

Woah, two years since my last post. A lot has changed... And I'm the happiest I've ever been in my life.

Late fall 2025, I sat down on a whim and applied to @nccartprograms, finally fulfilling the dream of teenage Becky.

These last few months have been amazing during my first semester, creating every single day. My growth has been exponential, but my self rediscovery has been crucial.

In recent years, I've had these moments that are confirmation to who I am. This photo was one of those moments.

Last week, I had my first group gallery show opening at @soft_machine_gallery where my imposter syndrome was totally non-existent. I am an artist - not just a girl trying to be one.

This. This is what I exist on this planet to do: art, creation, bringing meaning, life, and beauty into this world in a way it may have never experienced before.

I can't wait for what the future holds.

IM GRADUATEDDDDD! I’m happy to present my senior thesis “me and today”. A big thanks to everyone who could come out and show support. I performed my piece, “my brown bodies” and I won second place!!!

These past three months, my work has centered around my identity within the private and public sphere of my daily life. It’s easy to think of oneself as a spec in the vast world or our own history, but through my work, I’m learning more about how my identity has been formed through the consequences of history and politics. I’m part of something much larger than myself and to ignore the elephant would be neglecting a large part of who I am.
