Applications are open now for the 2026 Nick Newlin Memorial Scholarship.

The Nick Newlin Memorial Scholarship was established in 2025 to honor the legacy of Coach Nick Newlin. Nick loved the sport of lacrosse - coaching, playing or watching. His fondest memories were always around a lacrosse field and his love for the game was contagious. Each year, a $500-$1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who shares the same passion, dedication and heart for the game that Nick had. The scholarship serves as a tribute to Nick’s life and the way he has left a lasting impact on our community.

To be eligible for the Nick Newlin Memorial Scholarship, applicants must be graduating seniors who will go on to play lacrosse at the collegiate level. To be considered, please complete the application in our bio.

Sending a huge thank you to Vince & ManDeleon @da1mandeleon and the HBCU Original Podcast @hbcuoriginal for welcoming our Head Coach, Tre Sherwood, to discuss the movement behind Julius L. Chambers Men’s Lacrosse.

It was an honor to share our vision of growing the game throughout inner-city Charlotte and across the greater Southern community by creating opportunities, increasing access, and proving that lacrosse belongs in every neighborhood. We appreciate the platform and look forward to more collaboration in the near future!https://youtu.be/ZTnc2-pnVFY?is=AAhlowvzaeycHb6P
