A bit overdue, but here are some photos from our trip to Japan in October 🇯🇵

We attempted to see as much of Tokyo as we could in a week (difficult task), stopped in Hakone for the mountains and onsens, Kyoto for the history, Osaka for the street food, Kamakura for the beach, and Enoshima. A life-changing trip to be sure and can’t wait to go back!

Going through my imported photos on my phone for unrelated life chores and found myself lost thinking about the work the last few years. There have been a lot of years where I was looking for a "shot" and an "edit" that would make my photography "good" . What would make my work worth the money people invest. But the last two months have made me more emotional about photos than ever before. The ability to revisit times that you'll never get back can be rewarding and valuable but painful in the same breath. Education I've been studying lately keeps repeating the phrase "the weight of the work" and I have felt it first hand. My work will be forever changed going forward, it'll be different for me. It's future worth and need by others will be why I mange the time it takes to accomplish. Im grateful to every person whose invested in me in the past, I hope you've been able to use it to relive, to grow, to mourn, to appreciate and to love that time, no matter how different things are now. To every person I work with in the future I hope you find the importance in the time you've chosen to freeze with me and let that be the purpose of having your photos done. The clothes, the location, the way you look, is all noise that won't matter in the long run. Take the damn photos.
