Released on this day in 1992, our single Teethgrinder. It got to number 30 in the UK charts and was featured on the video game Road Rash. The riffs popped into Andy’s head during a long bus journey from Belfast to Carlow (via Dublin) to the rented house where the band were writing and rehearsing for what was to be their Nurse album. Without a recording device he nearly drove himself mad trying to keep singing the riffs to himself (internally) during the trip, writing down the fret positions in a notebook. On arrival the band spent a long day putting an arrangement together. That evening they binged vhs cassettes (anyone remember them? 😀) and got the sample idea from a Channel Four documentary. Appropriately, not a lot of sleep was had during the making of this track. On this day in 1994 the Black Sabbath Tribute Album, Nativity in Black, was released on Columbia Records and it featured a version of Iron Man with ourselves playing the music and Ozzy singing. We were both thrilled and honoured to have been asked. The drums, bass and rhythm guitar were recorded in London with the late Chris Tsangarides and then Ozzy’s vocal, extra guitars and Andy’s backing vocals were recorded in L.A. with Terry Date. Ozzy was courteous and good fun and back in London Chris was patient with the countless drum takes and regaled us with many tales of heavy metal mayhem from his past. The album subsequently achieved Gold status in North America. Our initial plan was to create a version that blended two of our favourite heavy bands, Black Sabbath & Black Flag. Lovely to have been asked and grateful to be in such wonderful company. Anyone have this album? @therapyofficial @ncooper.insta @blacksabbath @ozzyosbourne @theozzfest #therapyquestionmark #blacksabbath #ozzyosbourne #nativityinblack #1994

Released on this day 2018, Cleave, our first record for @marshallrecords. Recorded in Newcastle Upon Tyne @blastrecording and produced by the legendary @chrissheldonmixer with artwork by the one and only @rolfeco. Opening track Wreck It Like Beckett began with a riff from bassist Michael that was “influenced by Public Enemy - She Watch Channel Zero” and developed into a Big Black plays Sepultura vibe by way of East Antrim. The Beckett reference/influence continues on into Expelled. There’s a nod to the hideous Mango Mussolini on Dumbdown and a Rudi plays Manics circa Holy Bible pop rocker with Callow. The album is currently available digitally on the new Bandcamp page. See link in bio. What’s your favourite track on Cleave? @therapyofficial @ncooper.insta #therapyquestionmark #cleave #marshallrecords #2018 #irishrock
