Thank you to the Together Society of Calgary for inviting me to the Grandparents and Grandchildren: Bridging Generations Through Stories event. Creating spaces for older generations to share their knowledge, wisdom, and experiences with younger generations is vital to strengthening our community and preserving our culture. It was wonderful to hear the thoughtful questions from the younger generation and the answers shared by their elders. Events like this remind us of the importance of learning from one another and keeping our stories and traditions alive. @ncsccalgary @yubpaudyal

Yesterday, I gathered with Calgary’s Nepalese community in solidarity and remembrance following the devastating floods in Nepal.

Our hearts are with everyone who has lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods and with those who continue to wait for news from friends and family back home.

In times of tragedy, we must stand together. The Nepalese community is an integral part of Calgary, and we will continue to offer unwavering commitment and dedication for the months of rebuilding ahead.

On behalf of the Alberta NDP Caucus and our leader, @nenshi , we offer our deepest condolences to everyone affected. To the Calgary Nepalese community, you are in our thoughts and always remember that in every trial, we stand united with you as one family.
