I love finding old treasures! I was cleaning out my email and came across this video from 2009 when I was a reporter for NC State University’s (@ncstate) student-produced station, Wolf-TV! My classmate, John Coggin (@johndcoggin), asked if I wanted to be a new reporter, and I happily said yes! I was a senior majoring in Communication at the time, and this was a fun shoot! There was no teleprompter; everything we reported on was delivered from memory and on the spot. I was nervous, but had a great time! Listening to myself speak, I hear my cute, country accent and it makes me smile. Boy, has my voice changed. Looking back, I have been someone who was willing to try something new, and being a reporter for Wolf-TV News paved the way for me later becoming a red carpet host in Hollywood where I have interviewed celebrities at the Emmys, Oscars, Grammys, award shows, celebrity charity events, and more! In 2009 when I filmed this, I had no idea that five years later, I’d be taking my talents to the red carpets of Hollywood! It is amazing to see my growth and trajectory. I have been working hard for years; this is nothing new to me. John, thank you for giving me this amazing opportunity! Thank you NC State (@ncstate), the NC State Department of Communication (@ncstatecommdept), and the NC State College of Humanities & Social Sciences (@ncstatechass) for educating me in my major, Communication with a concentration in Media. I have so many wonderful memories from my time at NC State! Go Pack!🐺🐾

CHASS 🤝 @canes 🏆 The Carolina Hurricanes are bringing the Stanley Cup back to Raleigh and CHASS alumna Natalie Gore helped to fuel the excitement surrounding the team’s historic championship. 🏆 👏 As a senior marketing coordinator for the Hurricanes, she works behind the scenes to engage the team’s passionate fan base, elevate the organization’s brand and create memorable experiences during one of the most anticipated moments of the season. 🏒 Whether promoting game-day experiences, supporting fan engagement initiatives or helping execute marketing campaigns, the 2024 communication graduate plays a role in connecting thousands of Hurricanes fans to the team they love. While at NC State, Natalie interned in public relations for the team during the 2022–23 season, became lead intern the next season and secured a full-time digital marketing coordinator role before graduating. She was promoted to her current role in November 2025. Her role reflects how a CHASS education can translate into a career in professional sports marketing. The communications skills, audience awareness and storytelling foundation she developed at @ncstate continue to shape her work in a fast-paced environment where connecting with people is central to everything she does. 🤳 🐺 #NCStateCHASS #ThinkAndDo
